A FAMILY TRADITION FROM 1868 TO THE PRESENT

Sorì is a dairy company with deep roots in the 1800s. The Sorrentino family, now in its fifth generation, continues to pass on the traditions that have brought the company to its current prestige.

1868:
The Origins of Sorì

Sorì’s story began in the heart of Naples, when Giuseppe Sorrentino, with a visionary spirit, left his family of origin, then serving the Bourbons at the Royal Palace of Caserta, to start a dairy distribution business in Borgo Sant’Antonio Abate. A courageous gesture that started a long dairy tradition.

Early 1900s:
The Turn with Luigi Sorrentino

Luigi Sorrentino, Giuseppe’s son, picks up the family legacy with determination, flanked by his sons Vincenzo and Pasquale. The business is consolidated in the beating heart of Naples, near Porta Capuana, with the distribution of dairy excellence such as buffalo mozzarella and ricotta.

1930s:
Pasquale Sorrentino’s The Vision.

Pasquale Sorrentino, Luigi’s son, transforms the company from a simple distributor to a producer of excellence. He founded a dairy in Paestum, in the Sele Plain, starting direct production of Mozzarella di Bufala Campana. This is the beginning of a complete control of the supply chain, from raw material to finished product, with an absolute focus on quality.

1990: John Sorrentino and Innovation in Manufacturing.

With Giovanni Sorrentino, Pasquale’s son, the company makes a quantum leap. He decides to focus on the production of Mozzarella di Bufala Campana, expanding the business in the Caserta area after successes in Salerno and Naples. A strategic choice that further consolidates Sorì in the Campania dairy scene.

1998: The New Generation and the Teano Plant

With the entry of Gaetano and Antonello Sorrentino, Sorì evolves further. A state-of-the-art dairy plant is born in Teano, at the foot of the Roccamonfina Volcano Regional Park. Upstream integration of the production process allows the company to directly control raw materials, ensuring an uncompromising level of quality.

2001:
The PDO Recognition

On June 18, 2001, Sorì marks another milestone: the inauguration of the new plant and the official start of production of Mozzarella di Bufala Campana PDO, with the recognition of the European Consortium for Protection. A symbol of excellence that confirms the company’s commitment to enhancing Campania’s dairy heritage.

Today:
Tradition, Quality and the Future

Today Sorì is a reference point for the art of Campania dairy farming. Thanks to its well-established reputation and the quality of its products, the company stands out as a market leader in many European and non-European countries, staying true to the values that have made it great.
